Shipping Cost & Refund

Delivery Costs and Timings

Smaller Items: Delivery is free on orders over £50, while orders under £50 incur a £4.50 fee. Standard delivery typically takes up to 5 working days (Monday–Saturday, 7:30 am–6:30 pm), and couriers include Royal Mail, Evri, DHL, and DPD. Tracking details are emailed once your order leaves the warehouse.

Larger Items: Furniture and appliances are delivered via John Lewis & Partners vans or approved suppliers. Standard delivery costs £19.95, with exceptions for non-mainland UK locations. You can choose a 10-hour delivery slot, and UK standard delivery usually takes 3 working days, depending on postcode and slot availability. Next-day delivery and 2–4 hour time slots are available for an additional charge. Deliveries to highland, island, or rural areas may take longer than 7 days.

Returns Policy

You can return items within 30 days of purchase in their original, unused condition with proof of purchase. Items must include packaging, labels, and be resalable. Returns can be made at John Lewis or Waitrose stores, via post, or at Click & Collect locations.

Non-returnable Items: Opened or unsealed products, perishable food, live plants/trees, personalized items, opened gift cards, and certain hygiene-related products (e.g., beauty, lingerie, swimwear, pierced earrings) cannot be returned unless faulty.

Refunds

Refunds are processed within 14 days to the original payment method. Gift card purchases are refunded via e-gift card. Faulty items within 30 days can be returned for a full refund or exchange. After 30 days, repairs or replacements follow the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Returns Cost

Small items posted or returned in-store are free. Large items collected from your address cost £29.95 unless damaged or faulty.

Price Promise & Special Returns

John Lewis offers a 7-day price promise on purchases; refunds for price differences are available if a lower price is found at listed retailers. Gifts can be returned or exchanged using the original returns note. High-value jewellery/watches (£500+) must be returned to a store that stocks the items. Gifts received as part of a promotion must be returned with the qualifying purchase.

Processing Returns

Refunds are usually processed within 14 days of receipt. Allow up to 7 days for the item to reach the returns center, plus 2 days for processing, and 5 days for the refund to appear in your account. Items returned by mistake are not the responsibility of John Lewis.
